LSU to host 5-star DB Desmond Ricks for unofficial visit

LSU is set to host one of the nation’s best overall prospects for an unofficial visit on June 2. 2024 Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy defensive back Desmond Ricks will be in Baton Rouge as a part of his summer tour of visits.
Ricks was in Baton Rouge earlier this spring for an unofficial visit and has tripped to many of the colleges that have offered the five-star prospect.
Desmond Ricks is currently the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s the No. 2 overall prospect for On3. ESPN has yet to rate him, which could be holding him back from being an On3 Five Star Plus+ prospect, which belongs to athletes ranked as five stars on the four major recruiting media service sites.
Alabama is the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine leader over Florida State and North Carolina. Georgia, Penn State, Miami and others are among the other programs who’ve offered the Virginia native.

Ricks currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $150k, ranking him No. 66 in the high school football NIL rankings. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
Desmond Ricks Scouting Summary
“Big, athletic corner who stars on one of the most talented defenses in high school football. Has good stature for the position at over 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds heading into his junior season. Registers as a strong athlete in the combine setting. Was a key player on IMG Academy’s talented defense as a sophomore in addition to seeing significant time as a freshman. A smooth mover with advanced technical ability. Battle-tested against top wide receivers both in practice at IMG and in playing a national schedule throughout the fall. Older for the class, turning 18 years old in the middle of his junior season.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
