LSU promotes JR Belton to director of football operations

LSU staffer Jon Randall “J.R.” Belton has been elevated from director of football recruiting to a new title as director of football operations.
The promotion was updated on Belton’s bio page on the athletics department website and confirmed by the Bengal Tiger staff.
“As Director of Football Operations, Belton oversees the day-to-day operations for the LSU football team and staff and works closely with LSU General Manager Austin Thomas on various projects as it relates to building a championship program,” according to lsusports.net.
Belton joined the LSU staff in the spring of 2021 as the director of scouting under coach Ed Oregon and was promoted less than a year later to the director of recruiting under the newly hired Brian Kelly.
