Former LSU stars highlight latest Madden '99 Club'

Only seven players earned the elite “99” overall rating in the newest installment of the Madden video game series.
And a pair of former LSU stars, both Louisiana-born wide receivers, earned two of those spots to account for nearly 30% of this year’s “99 Club.”
Minnesota Vikings star Justin Jefferson is now a three-time member of the group — according to the franchise — while former national-championship running mate Ja’Marr Chase joined him and became the first player in Cincinnati Bengals history to garner the distinction.
Jefferson, the former Destrehan standout, has led the league with 7,432 receiving yards since his rookie season in 2020.
Chase, the former Archbishop Rummel standout, is third since his rookie season in 2021 with his 5,425 yards following only Jefferson (6,032) and Tyreek Hill (5,707).
He achieved the rare receiving triple-crown last season as he led the league with 127 catches for 1,708 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns — all career-high marks.
Chase became the youngest player to ever manage the feat and just the fifth total since the AFL-NFL merger.
