Wide receiver Kyle Parker has signed with LSU, adding another dynamic name to the Tigers’ receiver room for 2023.

“I had a great recruiting process and got my first offer a little bit into my junior season. I had a lot of good options on the table,” Parker told The Bengal Tiger. “LSU came by and was one of my last offers. Coach Hankton offered me and LSU has always been a dream school of mine, it’s the school I watched as I’ve grown up. Me getting that offer, it put some spark into my recruitment.”

Parker had other notable schools pushing him in the first half of 2022, but his commitment to LSU stayed solid. He received a late push from Texas, but ultimately signed to play at LSU and further strengthen the Tigers’ receiver room.

“I just felt LSU felt like the most home for me,” Parker said. “It was definitely a tough decision. I went to Oklahoma State and Louisville, I like those schools too. Texas offered me earlier. It’s definitely not easy. You have to make the right decision, even though it’s hard to make the right decision. Me making this decision felt like the best decision for me. LSU fits me best.”

A Rising Star

According to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Kyle Parker is the No. 47 overall wideout in the nation and No. 58 overall prospect in Texas.

Parker had a strong senior season at Lucas (Tex.) Lovejoy, helping his ranking shoot up from several outlets. His speed and agility is evident on film and had the attention of the LSU coaching staff.

Cortez Hankton’s room is filled with four and five star talent and had another shot in the arm with the transfer in of Aaron Anderson from Alabama over the weekend. Kyle Parker is a dynamic player, but also has the versatility to line up on the outside and in the slot. In a class with four wide receiver signees, Parker is a name many are high on and believe can have a quality career in Baton Rouge.

“Jalen is fast, can take the top off. Shelton, big wide receiver that can do almost everything. I definitely like Khai too. Adding him to the receiver corps is great. It’s a big addition,” Parker said. “Me, I’m versatile, I can do almost everything, too. Like coach (Cortez) Hankton said, we’re going to try and take the top off of people so I feel that’s exactly what we’ll do.”

Parker will be early enrolling and be on campus for the spring semester and spring camp.
