Live updates: Michigan football vs. Nebraska

• 4Q, 0:00 – With the clock hitting zero, Michigan secured its fifth win of the 2023 season.

• 4Q, 4:17 — Nebraska has avoided being shut out and still hasn’t been held scoreless at home since 1968. Josh Fleeks runs 74 yards for a touchdown on the first play of the drive. Michigan’s lead is now 45-7.

• 4Q, 4:37 — Michigan has broken 40 for the first time this season, with Jayden Denegal finding Peyton O’Leary for an 8-yard touchdown. That marks the first touchdown in each of Denegal and O’Leary’s careers. The Wolverines hold a 45-0 edge.

• 4Q, 14:17 — The second-team Michigan offense has a scoring drive for the first time this season, with James Turner making a 30-yard field goal to cap it off.

• End of the third quarter: Michigan 35, Nebraska 0. The Wolverines have the ball facing 3rd and 4 on the Nebraska 12-yard line when play resumes.

• 3Q, 5:00 — Michigan has backup quarterback Jack Tuttle in the game. Backup left guard Giovanni El-Hadi and right tackle Trente Jones are also on the field.

• 3Q, 5:58 — Blake Corum punches in a 1-yard touchdown run to give the Wolverines a 35-0 lead. Michigan drove 78 yards in 11 plays for the score.

• 3Q, 11:48 — Nebraska drove deep into Michigan territory, thanks to a 56-yard pass, but ended by missing a 40-yard field goal. The Cornhuskers had a false start on 3rd and 1 before being pushed back and missing the field goal. Michigan starts on its own 22-yard line.

• Half: Michigan 28, Nebraska 0

• 2Q, 0:23 — J.J. McCarthy scrambles out to his left and finds a streaking Roman Wilson for a 16-yard touchdown. Michigan now has a 28-0 lead.

• 2Q, 3:59 — Nebraska punts once again. Tyler Morris muffs it as the returner but found some room out to his left for a 29-yard return. Michigan starts with great field position on its own 45-yard line.

• 2Q, 8:21 — Michigan punts for the first time this afternoon. Tommy Doman’s boot flies into the end zone for a touchback, and Nebraska takes over on its own 20-yard line.

• 2Q, 9:15 — Nebraska has the first three-and-out of the game, and Michigan takes over on its own 35-yard line after the punt and 11-yard Jake Thaw return.

• 2Q, 11:22 — J.J. McCarthy dropped back, had time, saw a seam over the middle and ran for a 21-yard touchdown. The Wolverines now hold a 21-0 lead.

• End of the first quarter: Michigan 14, Nebraska 0. The Wolverines face 3rd and 7 from their own 15-yard line.

• 1Q, 1:24 — Michigan stonewalls Nebraska on 4th and 1 from the Michigan 12-yard line, with Heinrich Haarberg running a QB sneak out of the shotgun. The Wolverines take over at the 12, still leading 14-0.

• 1Q, 7:15 — Michigan brought in Kalel Mullings at running back on third and 1. He cut a run back left and bursted through the hole for a 20-yard touchdown. The Wolverines lead 14-0.

• 1Q, 8:39 — Braiden McGregor tipped Nebraska’s first pass attempt of the game, and defensive tackle Kenneth Grant, making his second career start, made the interception. The Wolverines take over at the Nebraska 29-yard line.

• 1Q, 9:20 — Michigan scores on its first drive of the game, with J.J. McCarthy finding Roman Wilson for a 29-yard touchdown. Wilson made a highlight-reel grab, a contested catch. Wilson was running free open over the middle and McCarthy didn’t see him until later. The Wolverines picked up a 4th and 1 with Blake Corum earlier in the drive.

• Nebraska has won the toss and chosen to defer its choice to the second half. Michigan will receive to open the game.
