Michigan freshman tracker: Nine Wolverines have burned redshirts

Michigan Wolverines football has seen nine freshmen burn their redshirts by playing in more than four regular-season games, with quarterback Bryce Underwood being the most notable.
The eight other Michigan freshmen to burn their redshirts are cornerback Jayden Sanders (nine games), wide receiver Andrew Marsh (nine), cornerback Elijah Dotson (eight), EDGE Nate Marshall (seven), safety Jordan Young (six), linebacker Chase Taylor (six), wide receiver Jamar Browder (six) and cornerback Shamari Earls (five).
There are two more on the verge of burning redshirts, defensive tackle Benny Patterson and running back Jasper Parker. While it’s entirely possible Patterson won’t appear in another regular-season contest, Parker will likely see action in another one soon. With junior Justice Haynes down with injury, Parker has moved up to second or third on the depth chart at running back, battling with junior Bryson Kuzdzal for the next spot after sophomore Jordan Marshall.
