Mississippi State flips 2026 four-star safety Bralan Womack from Auburn
The December signing period opens on Wednesday but Mississippi State’s Class of 2026 got a major boost on Monday. 2026 safety and Rivals four-star prospect Bralan Womack flipped his commitment from Auburn to Mississippi State on Monday and immediately becomes the top-rated commitment in the Bulldogs’ class.
The Hartfield Academy standout originally committed to Auburn in August. But in November, things started to heat up with Womack and Mississippi State. Womack took a couple of visits to Starkville in November, including an official visit. Womack also took a game-day visit to Texas A&M last month but eventually landed in Mississippi State’s class.
Womack is rated as the nation’s No. 2 safety and the state’s No. 2 prospect by Rivals. Overall, he is ranked as the nation’s No. 37 prospect regardless of position by Rivals. Womack is also on track to be an early high school graduate.

With the Bulldogs losing their top three safeties on the 2025 roster, Womack has an opportunity to impact State’s defense sooner than later. Here’s his scouting report by Rivals:
“A three-dimensional safety prospect that excels in run support, man coverage and zone coverage that possesses quality movement skills and physicality. Verified 6-foot, 190 pounds with average length. Strong testing in the spring camp setting, especially in the explosive in fluidity metrics. Has personal bests in the 100m at 11.03 and the 200m at 22.78. Instinctive playmaker that triggers so well to the football, appears to be one step ahead of every player on the field. Rangy defender that covers every balde of grass from sideline to sideline. Physical and willing tackler around the line of scrimmage. One of the most productive defensive backs in the country as a junior intercepting eight passes on defense and securing 54 catches for over 1,000 yards as a receiver on the offensive side of the ball. Versatility makes his defined role at the next level a potential question mark. Fits a lot of different positions at the next level but believe his best fit is as a nickel or strong safety due to his fluidity and physicality.” — Cody Bellaire, Rivals National Scout
