2026 commitment Camron Brown uses State official visit for future planning

2026 Mississippi State commitment Camron Brown was back in familiar territory this past weekend. The On3 three-star cornerback from Valdosta (Ga.) High School was one of 16 official visitors welcomed to campus by the Bulldogs’ staff.
Brown has been committed to Mississippi State since February and his weekend stay at Mississippi State is his lone official visit. Like previous visits, Brown was impressed with the hospitality he encountered last weekend.
“My official visit was great, really great,” Brown recalled. “What stood out a lot was the people. They have genuine people there. They are going to make sure you are straight and focused on what you need to do.”
While there were plenty of events for Brown and the official visitors all weekend, his focus was more about future preparations. The highlight of his weekend was simply gaining more knowledge about his life in the Maroon and White next year.
“My favorite part was getting a good feel for what it will be like going to school there,” added the 6-foot-1 and 170-pound Brown. “They showed us the dorms, the study room and study hall. It was also good hanging out with the players and they showed us a good time.”
Brown also picked up more knowledge from his time with State’s players, particularly from the defensive side of the ball.
“I was with Stonka Burnside, Jalen Smith, Isaac Smith and Kolin Wilson,” remarked Brown. “Those are good guys. They told me if you do your part then the coaches will do their part. They are going to make sure you show up for class and make sure you show up on time for meetings.”

Brown was also able to learn more about his opportunities at Mississippi State when he arrives on campus. In talks with cornerbacks coach Corey Bell, he sees the chance to get on the field sooner than later.
“Coach Bell told me they have a lot of corners leaving after this year,” Brown explained. “He said he has a lot of seniors on the roster this year. So that will leave a lot of room for corners to come in and fight for their spot.”
Also a standout in the class room, Brown will begin fighting for his spot sooner than most of his 2026 classmates. Brown will graduate from Valdosta High School in December and then enroll at Mississippi State in January.
“I’m graduating early, too, so I am going to be there in January,” noted Brown. “So that will help and this weekend visit just made me ready to get there. It was a relaxing visit because I am already home. I just took in and absorbed everything so I will know how it feels when I actually get there for good.”
