After experiencing a successful MLB Draft earlier this week, Mississippi State continues to add to its 2026 roster. On Thursday, East Central Community College right-handed pitcher Chris Billingsley announced his commitment to head coach Brian O’Connor and his staff.

The Bibb County (Ala.) High School product has displayed a strong arm over the past two seasons and has touched 98 mph with his fastball this summer. Billingsley is playing with the Trenton Thunder in the MLB Draft League this summer and has thrown eight innings with an 0-1 record and 5.63 earned run average.

As a sophomore at East Central, Billingsley posted a 9-4 record with a 3.89 earned run average and had 11 starts on the mound. Billingsley struck out 92 batters and walked 46 in his 76.1 innings of work. Expected to be a pitcher only, Billingsley also had 58 at-bats this past season and hit .204 with two home runs and 10 RBIs.

In his two-year stop at East Central, Billingsley made 30 total appearances on the mound with 19 starts. For his juco career, Billingsley posted a 14-4 record and a 4.09 earned run average along with 149 strikeouts and 94 walks.
