Diamond Dawgs in the Show Update: September 24

It’s baseball season yet again.
The Major League Baseball season is deep into the schedule and several former Mississippi State players are doing their thing on baseball’s biggest stage. That includes former State standout Jake Mangum who made his debut with Tampa Bay this year and he has made a major impact.
The State legend is one of nine former Bulldogs that are active in the league with several more likely in and out this year. A few players made moves in the offseason like Nathaniel Lowe going to Washington before being signed by the Boston Red Sox and Adam Frazier made his return to the Pittsburgh Pirates before being traded to another familiar stop in Kansas City.
Jordan Westburg is back looking to build on his breakthrough season with the Baltimore Orioles while Brent Rooker is hoping to continue his great run with Oakland. Brandon Woodruff is back after shoulder surgery and JP France is working back recovering from an injury last season.
Over the last week, Woodruff threw another great start with just a run and nine strikeouts recorded. J.T. Ginn got another win with his 5.0-inning start and J.P. France made his return to the MLB for the first time since April of 2024.
Frazier had hit 200th career double in an eight-hit week with the Royals and Rooker had hit 30 home runs for the third-straight season
