Diamond Dawgs in the Show Update: July 29

It’s baseball season yet again.
The Major League Baseball season is underway and several former Mississippi State players are doing their thing on baseball’s biggest stage. That includes former State standout Jake Mangum who made his debut with Tampa Bay this year and he has made a major impact.
The State legend is one of nine former Bulldogs that are active in the league with several more likely in and out this year. A few players made moves in the offseason like Nathaniel Lowe going to Washington and Adam Frazier made his return to the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Jordan Westburg is back looking to build on his breakthrough season with the Baltimore Orioles while Brent Rooker is hoping to continue his great run with Oakland. Brandon Woodruff is back after shoulder surgery and JP France is working back recovering from an injury last season.
Over the last week, Woodruff had his fourth start in as many games with two runs or less surrendered and it was the third time in four games with 6.0 innings pitched. JT Ginn threw two starts last week for the A’s going at least 5.0 frames in both games and limiting the opposition to a combined one run.
