Former Mississippi State SS Adam Frazier

It’s baseball season yet again.

The Major League Baseball season is underway and several former Mississippi State players are doing their thing on baseball’s biggest stage. That includes former State standout Jake Mangum who made his debut with Tampa Bay this year and he has made a major impact.

The State legend is one of nine former Bulldogs that are active in the league with several more likely in and out this year. A few players made moves in the offseason like Nathaniel Lowe going to Washington before being signed by the Boston Red Sox and Adam Frazier made his return to the Pittsburgh Pirates before being traded to another familiar stop in Kansas City.

Jordan Westburg is back looking to build on his breakthrough season with the Baltimore Orioles while Brent Rooker is hoping to continue his great run with Oakland. Brandon Woodruff is back after shoulder surgery and  JP France is working back recovering from an injury last season.

Over the last week, Woodruff threw a gem with 6.0 shutout innings with two hits, eight strikeouts and zero walks while J.T. Ginn had an equally strong start with 5.0 innings, one run, zero walks and five strikeouts. Frazier got his 1,000th career hit on a home run while Mangum got his 100th hit in 100 games played.
