Quick start to recruiting for 2028 offensive lineman Jamarios Canton

IMG (Fla.) Academy’s Jamarios Canton has already had a successful offseason and the offseason has served two purposes for the 2028 offensive lineman.
First and foremost, the Texas native used the camp season to further improve his game in the trenches. Then with those camp showing, Canton added several new Power 4 offers last month. That included offers from Mississippi State, Alabama, Texas, Texas A&M and Florida State among others.
“It is a blessing,” noted Canton. “I worked hard for it so I feel like I deserve it. I kind of expected to get this many offers and I know I worked for it.”
But Canton was also quick to point out his main focus was getting better this summer. He had several things to work on with his game and noted of his previous camp stops.
“This summer is a big part of my development,” mentioned Canton. “I am working a lot on my feet and where to punch. I have other camps and visits to go to the rest of the summer. I recently went to Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Texas, too, and I also went to Texas A&M, LSU and Arkansas.”
Regarding Mississippi State, Canton was among the top underclassmen to showcase his talents at the Bulldog camp sessions in early June. He shared his thoughts on that visit to Starkville and discussed what stood out to him on that camp appearance.
“It was my first time there and it went good,” Canton recalled. “What stood out to me was all the drills they had for the athletes at camp. I also liked how the coaches showed love to all of the athletes. I definitely plan to go back to Mississippi State.”

It was also Canton’s first time to be around State offensive line coach Phil Loadholt. Canton thought highly of Loadholt’s coaching methods and the advice he received from Loadholt.
“It was good with Coach Loadholt,” added the 6-foot-5 and 280-pound Canton. “He taught me a lot of helpful things. He taught me how to stay square, taught me my hand placement and how to punch. He showed me how to keep my elbows right when I punch.”
Of course, that first-ever visit to State got even better for Canton when he received his State offer following his camp showing. And with each new offer, it only motivates Canton to strive for more success.
“It was great when they offered me after camp,” Canton remarked. “I got better at their camp and I want to keep getting better. I want to keep it going and keep being a better player this season.”
