State commit Jayden Ross enjoying success in final high school campaign

Entering his senior season at Ocean Springs High School, 2026 Mississippi State commit Jayden Ross held high expectations for the team and himself. So far, so good, in meeting those expectations.
Ocean Springs has sprinted to a 5-1 start this season and Ross has been a big reason for the offensive success. Ross is rated as the nation’s No. 87 offensive tackle and the state’s No. 35 prospect by Rivals.
“It was good to get started like that,” Ross remarked. “I feel good about our team and I am playing right tackle again. I worked on everything since last year and I really worked on my leverage and my pad level.”
Ross committed to the Bulldogs this past June during his official visit and has been a regular visitor to Davis Wade Stadium this season. He has maintained a growing relationship with offensive line coach Phil Loadholt, who keeps tabs on Ross’ progress this season.
“It’s still great with Mississippi State,” shared the 6-foot-6 and 315-pound Ross, who was recently invited to the Miss.-Ala. All-Star game. “Coach Loadholt stays up with me and checks on me to see how I am doing on the field. We talk about their season and all of that.”
At that next level, Loadholt expects Ross to remain at offensive tackle. And Ross is confident in his abilities to hold his own in the rugged SEC.
“Coach Loadholt likes me at offensive tackle,” noted Ross. “I feel like I can handle that in the SEC. I know I can play that spot at a high level in the SEC and I can’t wait for it.”

Ross has also taken notice of State’s success this year. During his numerous visits to Starkville this year, Ross has noticed a change in the culture and the locker room. Now he is seeing the results on the field.
“I expect at least six wins,” Ross added. “I think they can do that. I feel good about their program and the direction of their program. I have visited there a lot and they have great energy in the program with Coach Lebby.”
In regards to his recruiting process, Ross still has a few schools reaching out to him. But he remains confident in his Bulldog future and noted of those reasons.
“I still have a few schools talking to me,” Ross mentioned. “It’s Baylor, North Carolina and Tulane for the most part. But I am still solid with State. It’s about the relationships there and it is close to my family and it is in the SEC.”
