Mississippi State's challenging 2026 SEC baseball schedule set

Excitement continues to build  for Mississippi State baseball under new head coach Brian O’Connor the Bulldogs SEC schedule for the 2026 seasons bringing even more excitement to the program.

O’Connor‘s Diamond Dawgs are set to take on seven teams that made it to a Super Regional in 2025 and two teams that played in the College World Series including 2025 National Champion LSU.

Dudy Noble Field’s home Slate is among one of the most loaded in college baseball in 2026. This season, State gets set to host four teams that played in Super Regionals a season go and they get things started on March 20 with a three-game set against Vanderbilt.

State will also plays host to the Battle of the Bulldogs against former pitching coach Wes Johnson and Georgia on April 2-4. The following weekend, Mississippi State welcomes in Tony Vitello and the Tennessee Volunteers on April 10-12, then MSU will host defending national champs LSU on April 24-26. The weekend showdown against the rival Tigers is also when the 4th Annual Starkville Derby is set to be held.

They will close out the home schedule against another former pitching coach  in Butch Thompson and the Auburn Tigers on May 8-10.

MSU‘s road schedule is no slouch as the Bulldogs begin the season with a strong Arkansas program on the road at Baum-Walker Stadium on March 13-15,  opening the SEC schedule with a Razorback team that’s coming off of a CWS birth, and a trip to the semifinals. MSU will then travel to Oxford to take on archrival Ole Miss as the Bulldogs try to put together back-to-back series wins over the Rebels. That series is set for March 27-29.

 State is also traveling to South Carolina on April 17-19, to Texas from May 1-3 and the Bulldogs close out the SEC schedule at Texas A&M on May 14-16th.

O’Connor and his new Mississippi State baseball team will feature a returning nucleus of players like Bryce Chance, Noah Sullivan, Gehrig Frei, and All American 3B Ace Reese while adding in major pieces from the transfer portal like Aiden Teel from and James Nunnallee from Virginia James and key high school prospects like Jacob Parker.

Pitching coach Justin Parker also brings back critical pieces from last year’s team like Ryan McPherson and Charlie Foster while adding huge pieces from the transfer portal like Virginia LHP Thomas Valincius and nationally touted freshman LHP Jack Bauer.

The Bulldogs have not yet announced a full schedule for 2026 but are expected to play at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas from February 27-March 1 against Arizona State, Virginia Tech and UCLA.
