Diamond Dawg signee RHP Landon Harmon taken in third round of MLB Draft

Another Mississippi State signee has been drafted and is likely bypassing college baseball for the pros.

His final year was strong as Harmon was a .511 hitter with 48 hits, 10 home runs and 48 RBI while slugging .957. His pitching netted a 12-1 record with a 0.84 ERA and he pitched 66.1 innings with 131 strikeouts to 23 walks. Teams batted .121 against him.

Harmon was also twice named the 2A Mr. Baseball in the state the last two seasons and has earned All-American honors by multiple publications over the years. He committed to the Bulldogs in the summer of 2022, but is now set to move on and begin his professional career.
It’s the second player of Brian O’Connor’s signing class that has been selected for the draft. Earlier on Sunday, State had JoJo Parker taken as a first round pick to the Toronto Blue Jays. JoJo’s brother Jacob is another player that fans are watching along with LHP Jack Bauer.
