COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Mississippi State Bulldogs won their first SEC road game this season as they defeated No. 7 Texas A&M by a score of 5-1. The combination of seven different Bulldogs recording a hit and Khal Stephen only giving up one earned run in 6 2/3 innings of work pushed the Dawgs to victory.
Stephen drew the start and earned his third win on the season. In 6 2/3 innings of work, he only allowed five hits, three walks, one earned run, and struck out five batters. Tyler Davis got called by the bullpen and was not disappointed. In two innings of work, he allowed no hits, no earned runs, and one walk while he also struck out two Aggies.
Hunter Hines showcased his hitting ability again tonight, going a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with three RBIs. He hit his sixth home run of the season, a three-run shot in the fifth inning. This is the second game in a row he has hit a home run. David Mershon and Connor Hujsak were both efficient tonight, going 2-for-4 and 2-for-5, respectively. Bryce Chance and Logan Kohler both drove in a run.
