Mississippi State finished 21-14 a year ago and head coach Chris Jans led the Bulldogs to their third straight NCAA Tournament. Meanwhile, Houston posted a 35-5 record and lost to Florida in last year’s national championship game. The Cougars also captured the Big 12 last season with a 19-1 conference mark.
For Mississippi State, it marks the program’s first exhibition contest since two years ago when the Bulldogs defeated Southern Miss in Hattiesburg, Miss. Last year the Bulldogs held a pair of closed-door scrimmages, facing off against Georgia Tech in Birmingham, Ala., before playing Western Kentucky at Humphrey Coliseum.
The Bulldogs open the 2025-26 season on November 5th against North Alabama.
