Mississippi State returns home to Davis Wade Stadium on Saturday for a morning kickoff against No. 5 Georgia. Mississippi State is coming off its first SEC win of the season with a 38-35 victory at Arkansas last Saturday.

Mississippi State is 5-4 overall and 1-4 in the league. Georgia is 7-1 overall and 5-1 in the SEC with its lone loss coming to Alabama last month at home.

Georgia leads the all-time series 21-6 and the Dawgs have won five straight meetings with State. Georgia has a 5-2 edge in games held in Starkville and won the last meeting in Starkville, 45-19, back in 2022. State’s last win in the series was a 24-12 decision in Starkville during the 2010 campaign.

Georgia won last year’s meeting, 41-31, in Athens, Ga. The host Dawgs led just 34-24 early in the fourth quarter but Mississippi State could not draw any closer the rest of the way.
