Starkville is buzzing with excitement as Mississippi State gets set to host College Football Playoff contender and top 5 foe Georgia on Saturday morning.

The Battle of the Bulldogs will feature two teams that have been on the opposite end of the spectrum in close games. Georgia (7-1, 5-1 SEC) has found ways to win several close ball games where State (5-4, 1-4 SEC) has lost two top 25 games in overtime and fell to Florida 23-21 driving to try and win the game.

However, State is hoping that last week was a new day for Jeff Lebby and his team. After trailing by two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, State came back and won 38-35 over Arkansas to win the first SEC game of Lebby’s tenure.

Now, State has its biggest challenge ahead of it with the UGA Bulldogs in town. Game time is set for 11 a.m. on ESPN and Maroon and White Daily members can join the conversation by following our live thread HERE.
