Initial SEC Availability Report for Mississippi State-Georgia

As Mississippi State prepares for its highest ranking opponent of the season on Saturday, the team will be doing it with more availability question marks.
The SEC’s Initial Availability Report indicated that State could be again playing without starting right tackle Albert Reese. The report has Reese doubtful for Saturday’s ball game against No. 5 Georgia (11 a.m., ESPN) and it will be his second-consecutive game missed with an undisclosed injury.
Reese also missed the Texas A&M game earlier this year after going down with an injury in the second half the week prior in MSU’s overtime loss to Tennessee. Last week, State started sophomore Jayvin James at right tackle while redshirt freshman Jimothy Lewis was the starting left tackle.
James has started the last eight games on the offensive line and has split time between left and right tackle depending on Reese’s availability. Lewis will be making his third start on the line this season.
Safety Jahron Manning is probable for the game after leaving in the first quarter against Arkansas with an upper body injury. Manning has been one of State’s top impact transfers as the defensive back from Ole Dominion leads the team with 64 tackles and has five pass deflections, 2.0 tackles for loss and one interception.

Cornerback Jett Jefferson also made the report for the third-straight week and is out for the game. Jefferson has now missed the last two ball games with an injury. Backup center Brennan Smith is out for another week as are OL Blake Steen and DL Will Whitson who have been deemed out for the season.
UGA will also have several out for the game as wide receivers Colbie Young and Talyn Taylor are out with tight end Ethan Barbour, DB Kyron Jones and DL Jordan Hall. DB Demello Jones is questionable.
