While Mississippi State and Missouri fans have been awaiting a nighttime ball game in Columbia, Mo., next week, the designation is now set.

State and Mizzou has been set for a night game since before the season with the SEC now setting the time for 6:45 p.m. on November 15. The game will be broadcasted on SEC Network.

The No. 19 Tigers still aren’t out of the playoff hunt as Eli Drinkwitz is pushing for a strong finish. That would include winning to top 25 ball games in the final four weeks with a home matchup at Faurot Field this weekend against No. 3 Texas A&M and then a game against No. 11 Oklahoma on Nov. 22 in Norman.

State would love nothing more than to end those playoff chances for sure next week. The Bulldogs will travel to Columbia either looking to build off of back-to-back wins or trying to get to bowl eligibility. State (5-4, 1-4 SEC) just earned its first SEC win since 2023 when the Bulldogs came back from a 14-point fourth quarter deficit to knock off Arkansas in a 38-35 thriller.

Blake Shapen came back in after suffering an injury in the third quarter and had three consecutive scoring drives to end the game including the game winning touchdown pass to Anthony Evans with an 18-yard catch and run on 4th and 5.

With the win, State is now playing with a little bit of house money on Saturday against No. 5 Georgia (7-1, 3-1 SEC). The other Bulldogs come to Starkville on Saturday (11 a.m. ESPN) and are sandwiched between a close win in the rivalry matchup with Florida last week and a potential top 10 showdown at home against Texas.
