For the first time in October, Mississippi State returns to Davis Wade Stadium as the Bulldogs host No. 22 Texas on Saturday. The Bulldogs have not been at home since the month of September and Saturday is the lone home game in October.

The Bulldogs have dropped three straight and enter with a 4-3 record, including an 0-3 mark inside the SEC following last week’s heart-breaking 23-21 loss at Florida.

Meanwhile, Texas is 5-2 overall and improved to 2-1 in the league after winning a 16-13 overtime decision at Kentucky. The Longhorns’ lone SEC loss came at Florida earlier this month.

Texas leads the all-time series 3-2 and won last year’s meeting, 35-13, in Austin, Texas. In that meeting, Texas led 14-6 at halftime before pulling away late in the fourth quarter. Before Saturday’s matchup, the two teams have met just one previously at Davis Wade Stadium and it was Mississippi State claiming a 13-6 victory in the 1991 season.
