Initial SEC Availability Report released for Mississippi State-Texas A&M matchup

Mississippi State fans have been anxiously awaiting Wednesday’s first availability report for the Texas A&M matchup and there will still be questions until game time on Saturday.
Jeff Lebby’s first report for this game included starting right tackle Albert Reese and starting linebacker/safety Isaac Smith as questionable. Wide receiver Brenen Thompson and LB Derion Gullette were listed as probable for the game.
Reese has been at the forefront of concern for State fans this week after the starting senior offensive tackle went down with an injury in the third quarter against Tennessee and did not return. Reese was seen on the sideline with a sling on his arm and his status moving forward is unknown, but he is not out for Saturday evening which is a plus for Bulldog fans.
Thompson went to the locker room on his own power in the first half against the Vols and didn’t have what looked to be any serious issues. However, Thompson would not return to the game.

Smith left the game in the first half and did not return after a collision. He is the Bulldogs’ only preseason All-SEC member and has 28 tackles in the first five games with two pass deflections and an interception. Last season, Smith led the SEC with 127 tackles and had three pass deflections.
The Bulldogs are hoping to have backup LB Gullette available this week after missing each of the last two games. In the first three contests, he had racked up 16 tackles and was giving the Bulldogs some good reps before going down with an injury two weeks ago. Gullette was the only player on the availability report last week outside of Will Whitson and Blake Steen who are out for the season. Gullette was questionable on Wednesday, doubtful on Thursday and out on Friday.
Texas A&M has LB Scooby Williams and SAF Bryce Anderson questionable for the game.
