Bulldogs/Aggies postponed at SEC Tournament

HOOVER, Ala. – Mississippi State will take in some breakfast baseball on Wednesday morning for round one of the SEC Tournament.
Due to severe weather headed to Hoover, the SEC has postponed State’s matchup until Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. with Texas A&M that was originally scheduled for 8 p.m. on Tuesday. The league stated that the move was out of an abundance of caution for the weather that is entering the state of Alabama. With a win, State would play Auburn in round two at 11 a.m. on Thursday.
The Bulldogs (34-20) enter the tournament as the No. 11 seed after winning nine of the last 10 games to end the regular season. Among those wins were three SEC series with sweeps over Kentucky and a series victory over top 20 Ole Miss. State run ruled four of those nine wins and outscored its opponents 108-49.
The strong finish not only got the Bulldogs to .500 in league play at 15-15, it looks to have secured State’s selection in the NCAA Tournament when the field is set next Monday.
