Another big SEC game is on the way this weekend for Mississippi State as the Bulldogs host No. 21 Texas at Davis Wade Stadium on Saturday.

Ahead of the big game, the SEC released its first SEC Availability Report of the week. Last week there was intrigue in the report for Bulldog fans as they waited on bated breath to see if Albert Reese and Isaac Smith would play against the Florida Gators. This week, there aren’t many major surprises.

Starting running back Fluff Bothwell goes into this week Questionable as he continues to progress towards playing in the coming weeks. After going down with an apparent lower leg injury against Texas A&M, Bothwell sat last week against Florida but his status is up in the air for Texas.

“Fluff is going to be day-to-day,” Lebby said on Monday. “I am really thankful he’s had a great week. He had a great week last week just from a rehab standpoint. I think it’s a real stretch that he’s ready (for Saturday) and we will let Wednesday’s report speak to that as we move forward.”

On the season, Bothwell is currently leading the Bulldogs in carries (84), yards (465) and is tied with Davon Booth in touchdowns with six. He’s averaging 5.5 yards per rush and 66 yards per game. Booth has 81 carries for 371 yards with six touchdowns and had his first 100-yard performance last week with 22 carries for 105 yards and two scores.

Also, out for the second-straight week will be center Brennan Smith. The UTEP transfer landed on the Injury Report last week and remains there. OT Jakheem Sumpert-Perkins was listed as Out last week but would wind up available for the game.

Others out for the game are DE Will Whitson and OT Blake Steen who were lost for the season in the first two games. Linebacker Zakari Tillman will also be out for the first half due to a targeting penalty that occurred against Florida.

For the Longhorns, they will be without star defensive back Michael Taaffee as the safety had a reported hand surgery that will keep him out for the week. Center Cole Hutson is also going to be out for the game along with WR Aaaron Butler.

Game time on Saturday is set for 3:15 p.m. on SEC Network.
