Last month Mississippi State received its new SEC scheduling for future seasons due to the nine-game conference slate. On Friday, the Bulldogs saw more changes to their non-conference portion of future schedules due to those future nine-game conference schedules.

Per Mississippi State officials:

“Based on new scheduling parameters, Mississippi State and Washington State have mutually agreed to cancel their home-and-home football series, originally scheduled to begin in Starkville in 2030, followed by a game in Pullman in 2031.

Under the agreement, neither institution will incur financial penalties as a result of the cancellation.

The schedule modification follows the SEC’s decision to move to a nine-game conference format beginning in 2026, which required Mississippi State to eliminate a future non-conference matchup.”

The Bulldog recently received their three permanent opponents within the SEC for the next four seasons, which will be re-evaluated after those four seasons. Those opponents include rival Ole Miss, Alabama and Vanderbilt.

Also next season in the SEC, the Bulldogs will host Oklahoma, Alabama, Auburn, Missouri and Vanderbilt while traveling to Ole Miss, LSU, Texas and South Carolina.

Also pending for the 2026 season, the Bulldogs will eventually have to cancel one of the four non-conference games that are currently scheduled. Those opponents include Louisiana-Monroe, Minnesota, Troy and Tennessee Tech. Mississippi State will keep the Minnesota matchup due to the new SEC rule of requiring one Power 4 non-conference game. So one of the other three matchups will have to be canceled in the future.
