NC State at Duke game notes

– This is the 86th all-time meeting between NC State and Duke. The Blue Devils hold the lead with a 43-37-5 mark with the rivalry dating back to 1924. The Wolfpack holds a 15-5 advantage in the dual since 1990, which included an 11-game winning streak from 1994 to 2008. NC State coach Dave Doeren is 1-3 against Duke since he took the program over in 2013.

– Duke coach Manny Diaz spent six seasons on NC State’s coaching staff under Chuck Amato from 2000 to 2005. He coached the Wolfpack linebackers, including current Director of Strength and Conditioning Dantonio “Thunder” Burnette, in 2000 and 2001.

– NC State continues its ACC road swing after it won at Wake Forest on Thursday night. This is the first time in 26 years that the Wolfpack’s first two conference games have come away from Carter-Finley Stadium. It last happened in 1999 when NC State opened league play at Florida State and Wake Forest — two losses. The last time the Wolfpack won back-to-back ACC road games to open conference play was in 1968 when it emerged victorious at Wake Forest and at North Carolina. NC State won the ACC Championship that season.
