NC State football coach Dave Doeren has a new contract extension. The deal was approved by an NC State Board of Trustees committee Thursday before the program announced it Friday afternoon.

Doeren agreed to a two-year extension, which will keep him under contract through 2029. Details for the new deal were not immediately available.

Doeren, who has spent the last 11 seasons at the helm of the Wolfpack, holds a 81-58 record in Raleigh. He led the red and white to a 9-4 record during the 2023 campaign — highlighted by a five-game winning streak to close the regular season.

The details of the contract extension are available here.

NC State assistant coach bonus update

In addition to the new contract, NC State’s assistant coaches bonus structure was also updated in the Board of Trustees committee Thursday.

For academic bonuses, the assistant coaches and coordinators are on the same bonus structure. The federal graduation rate, graduation success rate and academic progress rate bonuses for a single year are as follows: 70-79% is $2,500, 80-89% is $5,000, 90-99% is $7,500 and 100% is $10,000.

The competitive bonuses, however, differ from assistant coach and coordinator positions.

Should the Wolfpack make an appearance in the ACC Championship game, the coordinators will receive $25,000, while the assistant coaches would get $10,000 each. If the team were to win that game, the coordinators would earn $50,000 and the other assistant coaches would receive $20,000.

A non-CFP bowl appearance would garner $20,000 for the coordinators and $10,000 for each assistant, while the non-CFP bowl win would earn $45,000 for the coordinators and $20,000 for the assistant coaches.

The CFP appearance structure is as follows: a first round appearance is $50,000 for the coordinators and $30,000 for the assistants, while each round afterwards is a $5,000 increase from the previous round. Should the Pack win the CFP National Championship game, the coordinators would earn $70,000, while the assistant coaches would receive $50,000.

A Top-25 CFP Final Ranking would garner a $15,000 bonus for the coordinators and a $7,500 bonus for the assistant coaches, while a top-15 finish would give double those totals.

The coordinators can earn a maximum bonus of $180,000 in a single season, while the assistant coaches can accrue up to $115,000 in bonuses.
