NC State Newsstand: 13 members of the Pack make Academic All-ACC team

The final round of awards for the 2022 NC State football team rolled in Tuesday, recognizing 13 members of the Wolfpack roster as All-ACC Academic team honorees. Center Grant Gibson and long snapper Joe Shimko both made the team for the third time in their respective careers.

According to GoPack.com, this is the criteria to receive the honor.

“Student-athletes must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.00 or greater and must compete in at least 50 percent of their team’s contests to be considered for the football All-ACC Academic team,” NC State wrote in a press release.

According to the press release, Gibson and Shimko are 2 of the 10 athletes in program history to receive the honor three or more times since 1954. Defensive lineman Cory Durden and offensive lineman Dylan McMahon also made the team for the second time in their football careers.
