After allowing 14 unanswered points in a tight loss to Wake Forest last weekend, NC State is set to clash with Syracuse to round out a three-game homestand at Carter-Finley Stadium.

The Wolfpack, which sits at 3-3 going into Week 7, will start freshman quarterback CJ Bailey against the Orange. It will mark Bailey’s third-career start — his second at home. The Miami, Fla., native is 1-1 as a starting quarterback after he lost at then-No. 21 Clemson in his debut and beat Northern Illinois the following weekend.

Syracuse, meanwhile, enters the weekend off a 44-41 overtime win over UNLV last weekend. The Orange have won back-to-back games since they lost to Stanford 26-24 in their ACC opener on Sept. 20.

NC State vs. Syracuse game notes

– This will be the 11th meeting between NC State and Syracuse as ACC opponents. It is the 17th all-time meeting between the two programs and the Pack leads 13-3 overall.

– NC State has sold out 18 straight games, the program’s longest such streak. The rest of the season is sold out, which will mark 20 straight sellouts once the regular season concludes.

– Wolfpack graduate safety DK Kaufman has logged an interception for a touchdown and a fumble returned for a touchdown this season. He’s the first NC State defender to have both in the same fall since Freddie Aughtry-Lindsay, the Pack’s current nickels coach, did it in 2003 (he had both in a win over UConn).
