The Wolfpacker Show: NC State vs. Marshall preview and QB thoughts

NC State football hopes to rebound from its first ACC loss Saturday with a showdown against Marshall, an undefeated Sun Belt team with a talented pass-rushing defense and an explosive rushing offense. Sophomore quarterback MJ Morris will lead the Wolfpack into this game after taking over the starting job.

Ahead of the second-year signal-caller’s 2023 debut against the 4-0 Thundering Herd, The Wolfpacker Show hosts Ethan McDowell and Noah Fleischman broke down the non-conference showdown for NC State. They also shared their full takes on the quarterback change after taking a couple of days to process the season-changing news.

So far this season, Marshall has recorded wins over Albany, Virginia Tech, Old Dominion and East Carolina. Star running back Rasheen Ali is one of the nation’s top running backs and ranks No. 18 nationally in total rushing yards with 475 and has also scored 9 touchdowns. He is responsible for 100 percent of the Thundering Herd’s scores on the ground this year.

Defensively, Marshall is only allowing 143 passing yards per game and averages 4 sacks per game as well.
