Nebraska baseball cracks D1Baseball top 25 for the first time since 2021
Nebraska baseball is ranked.
For the first time in nearly three years, the Huskers have entered D1Baseball’s top 25 following a sweep of Northwestern this past weekend. Head coach Will Bolt’s squad has won 10 in a row and posted a sterling 15-2 record in the month of March. Nebraska is 20-5 and checks in at No. 24.
Baseball America rated the Huskers as the No. 22 team in the country in its poll.

The last time Nebraska received national recognition from D1Baseball was entering the Fayetteville Regional in 2021. That year the Huskers began the postseason as the No. 20 team in the land and came up short against the No. 1-rated Arkansas Razorbacks to finish 34-14.
Nebraska first entered the polls on April 26 that season and were immediately swept by Rutgers in the following weekend. A 4-0 trip in the Bloomington pod and claiming the Big Ten regular-season title had the Huskers back in the rankings nearly a month later on May 24.
Two other Big Ten teams have seen national rankings this season. Iowa began the year at No. 20 but fell out of the rankings after falling to 3-4 in the third week of the year. Indiana rose to the Hawkeyes’ high water mark in the same week and tumbled out of the rankings the next week.
The Huskers’ 3-0 trip to Evanston this weekend featured wins of 5-2, 9-4 and 8-7. It marked Nebraska’s first sweep to open conference play since 2019 and the first Big Ten road sweep since 2022. Next on the docket are the 20-4 Creighton Bluejays in a midweek matchup at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha on Tuesday night. Then the Huskers return home to take on Ohio State in a weekend series.
