Newsstand: Notre Dame’s Chad Bowden listed among rising recruiting staffers
Since his hiring in December, Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman has been regularly making headlines in the recruiting world. One of his top staffers, Chad Bowden, is a major player in the space and is partially to thank for the Irish’s recent recruiting victories. On Thursday, he was recognized for his work; On3 made a list of rising stars and recruiting staffers to know, and Bowden received a shoutout.
Bowden was promoted to director of recruiting from director of defensive recruiting after Freeman took over the Irish program. He knew Freeman from Cincinnati, where the two worked until the head coach moved over to South Bend. Bowden started for the Bearcats as an intern. Since then, Notre Dame signed a sixth-ranked 2022 class and currently has the No. 5 2023 group and No. 2 2024 group.
The Ohio native is the son of former Cincinnati Reds and Washington Nationals vice president and general manager Jim Bowden.
