Bruce Feldman’s Top 25 Freaks List is a staple in the college football preseason, and The Athletic’s national college football insider updated his list ahead of the NFL Combine. Two outgoing Notre Dame players made the list.

Cornerback Cam Hart made the preseason list at No. 32 in the offseason, and he checked in at No. 19 in the updated list that posted Sunday.

“Hart has great size for a corner at 6-2½, 204 pounds but also exceptional measurables,” Feldman wrote. “Last offseason, he broad jumped 11-2, vertical jumped 38 inches and hit 23.01 MPH on the GPS.”

And pass rusher Javontae Jean-Baptiste, who played one season for the Fighting Irish after a career with the OSU Buckeyes, is ranked No. 23.

“The Ohio State transfer made a big impact at Notre Dame in 2023, producing a team-best 10.5 TFLs to go with five sacks,” wrote Feldman. “The 6-4½, 260-pounder broad jumped 10-5 last offseason and vertical jumped 35 inches. He also hit 20.4 MPH on the GPS. He should be one of the most impressive D-linemen in Indy.”

Quote of the day

“Black projects as a high-end left tackle, a guy you want protecting the blindside of your quarterback. Like I said when he committed, he is out of central casting for a Notre Dame offensive tackle, particularly on the blind side. He has a really high upside and will continue getting better the more and more he plays. There’s a lot to like. We feel really good about his skill level, athleticism and size — he’s a big guy and will continue to fill out.”
