Monday’s U.S. Army Bowl will feature three 2024 class Notre Dame football commits. Wide receiver Micah Gilbert, linebacker Bodie Kahoun and cornerback Leonard Moore will play in this year’s edition of the game.

The U.S. Army Bowl is an All-American Showcase powered by Signing Day Sports. The game takes place Monday at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, at 8 p.m. EST. Bally Sports Networks will televise the game.

The U.S. Army Bowl differs from the All-American Bowl presented by American Family Insurance. That game is Saturday, Jan. 6, at the Alamodome in San Antonio and on NBC. The U.S. Army was the title sponsor of the All-American Bowl from 2001-17. Last year was the first U.S. Army Bowl game.

The Irish have five players pledged to play in the All-American Bowl: running back Kedren Young, wide receiver Cam Williams, offensive tackle Guerby Lambert, defensive lineman Bryce Young and linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa. Quarterback CJ Carr originally committed to play, but he is scheduled to begin practicing with Notre Dame on Saturday.

More on the three Notre Dame football commits playing in the U.S. Army Bowl

Gilbert is the highest-ranked Notre Dame commit playing in the U.S. Army Bowl. The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder is the No. 217 overall player, No. 40 wide receiver and No. 7 prospect in North Carolina, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.

In On3’s own rankings, Gilbert is the No. 157 overall prospect, No. 29 wide receiver and No. 5 prospect in North Carolina.

Gilbert is coming off a terrific senior season at Charlotte (N.C.) Christian. In 12 games, he caught 76 passes for 1,105 yards (14.5 yards per catch) and 10 touchdowns.

Kahoun upstaged Gilbert’s 2023 campaign. In 11 games for Roanoke (Va.) Patrick Henry High, the future Irish linebacker collected 200 tackles (126 solo), 27.0 for loss and 9.0 sacks. He also had 4 forced fumbles, 3 pass breakups and 1 blocked punt.

The 6-3, 215-pound Kahoun is the No. 50 linebacker nationally and the No. 9 prospect in Virginia, per the On3 Industry Ranking.

Despite battling injuries for part of his senior year, Round Rock (Texas) High’s Moore still put together a solid season. In seven games, he had 20 tackles (8 solo), 0.5 TFL, 2 pass breakups, and an interception. In 11 games as a junior, Moore had the same number of interceptions (3) as receptions allowed.

Moore checks in as The On3 Industry Ranking’s No. 36 cornerback in America and No. 63 prospect in Texas.

After Gilbert signs with the Irish on Wednesday, he will enroll early in January. Notre Dame expects Kaoun and Moore to join the program in June.
