When Indianapolis Colts quarterback Gardner Minshew closed his eyes and went to sleep Sunday night, he might still have seen Baltimore Ravens and former Notre Dame safety Kyle Hamilton blitzing off the edge on the offense’s right side.

Winning the game 22-19 in overtime probably helped Minshew sleep better. But Hamilton terrorized him throughout the first half, sacking Minshew 3 times and forcing a fumble on the last one.

The 2022 first-round pick finished the game with 9 tackles bringing his season total to 16. Six of his tackles Sunday were defensive stops, meaning a tackle that results in a failure for the offense, according to Pro Football Focus. He also allowed 3 receptions on 5 targets for only 11 yards, standing out in coverage as well.

No matter how you slice it, Hamilton was a stud for the Ravens this week. Baltimore believed the second-year safety was set for a breakout season, and that might have been the game that sparked it.

Here’s how every other former Notre Dame player in the NFL did in Week 3.

Brandon Aubrey (played for Notre Dame from 2013-16), K, Dallas Cowboys

Result: 28-16 loss to Cardinals

Aubrey remains perfect (10/10) on field goals this season, going 3/3 and making his lone extra point.

Blake Grupe (2022), K, New Orleans Saints

Result: 18-17 loss to Packers

Grupe’s first missed field goal of the season came at the worst possible time, as he missed a 46-yard field goal that would have given the Saints the lead with 1:10 to play in the game. Multiple reporters said Grupe handled his first miss very well, taking accountability and vowing to be better.

Nick McCloud (2020), CB, New York Giants

Result: 30-12 loss to 49ers

Stanley’s ankle injury is not believed to be serious, hence staying off IR, but he missed his second-straight game this week.
