COLUMBUS — For some Ohio State commits, they’re already at the halfway point of their 2023 seasons. That’s a little hard to grapple with when the Buckeyes are only a fourth of the way through the schedule.

A few of the Buckeyes’ commits are expected inside Ohio Stadium this weekend including three-star Toledo (Ohio) Central Catholic IOL Marc Nave.

But before commits and prospects alike make their way to the Horseshoe, they’ve got to play the game first. Lettermen Row breaks down the weekend slate.

Quarterback

Five-star Fairburn (Ga) Langston Hughes quarterback Air Noland is back on the gridiron after having a bye week last week. The future Ohio State quarterback travels to Douglasville (Ga) New Manchester.

2025 four-star Bellefontaine (Ohio) quarterback Tavien St. Clair hosts Lewistown (Ohio) Indian Lake on Friday. St. Clair will turn around and visit Ohio State for the second consecutive week.

Running Back

Four-star San Antonio (Texas) Veterans Memorial running back James Peoples hosts Fischer (Texas) Canyon Lake on Friday. Peoples has yet to make his senior season debut as he’s been sidelined with an injury.

Four-star Fort Lauderdale (Fla) St. Thomas Aquinas running back Jordan Lyle looks to continue his impressive senior season on Friday. The future Ohio State running back hosts Davie (Fla) Western.

Three-star Pickerington (Ohio) North running back Sam Williams-Dixon travels to nearby conference opponent Reynoldsburg (Ohio) on Friday.

Wide Receiver

Five-star Hollywood (Fla) Chaminade-Madonna wide receiver Jeremiah Smith had one of the most impressive individual games in history last week. He’ll look to do the same this Friday at Plantation (Fla) American Heritage.

Five-star New Haven (Ind) wide receiver Mylan Graham also had a ridiculous performance last week. He’ll look to replicate it against Ossian (Ind) Norwell.

Four-star St. Louis (Mo) Christian Brothers wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan, with a three-touchdown performance last week, could do it again this Friday. He hosts St. Louis (Mo) Chaminade.

2026 four-star Cincinnati (Ohio) Withrow wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. hosts Trotwood (Ohio) Madison on Friday.

Tight End

Four-star Chattanooga (Tenn) Baylor School tight end Max LeBlanc travels to Memphis (Tenn) Christian Brothers. The future Ohio State tight end is nearing double-digit touchdown receptions this season.

Four-star Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville tight end Damarion Witten travels to Bradenton (Fla) for a very telling game against IMG Academy.

Offensive Line

Four-star New Palestine (Ind) offensive tackle Ian Moore is on a two-game win streak and looks to keep that going. He and the Dragons host Pendleton Heights (Ind) on Friday.

Four-star Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward twins Deontae and Devontae Armstrong travel to Massillon (Ohio) Washington on Friday.

Three-star Toledo (Ohio) Central Catholic interior offensive lineman Marc Nave hosts Warren (Mich) De La Salle Collegiate.

Defensive Line

Five-star Chicago (Ill) St. Ignatius defensive tackle Justin Scott hosts Chicago (Ill) Marist on Friday. Marist is the former high school of current Ohio State wide receivers Carnell Tate and Nolan Baudo.

Five-star Buford (Ga) defensive lineman Eddrick Houston returns to the gridiron after a bye week. He and the Wolves host Atlanta (Ga) Carver.

Linebacker

Four-star Sunbury (Ohio) Big Walnut linebacker Garrett Stover hosts Westerville (Ohio) South on Friday.

Four-star Lucas (Texas) Lovejoy linebacker Payton Pierce travels to Terrell (Texas) on Friday for a district game.

Cornerback

Four-star Springfield (Ohio) cornerback Aaron Scott Jr. hosts Beavercreek (Ohio) on Friday. The future Ohio State cornerback hasn’t gotten much defensive action this season due to opposing teams’ game plans.

Four-star Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville cornerback Bryce West faces a massive test Friday against Bradenton (Fla) IMG Academy.

Four-star Chandler (Ariz) Basha cornerback Miles Lockhart is fully recovered from a lingering foot injury. He and the Bears travel to Mesa (Ariz) Mountain View on Friday.

Safety

Four-star West Orange (N.J.) Seton Hall Prep safety Jaylen McClain is back in action this week following a bye week. The No. 12 safety in the country via On3 hosts Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic on Saturday.
