Justin Fields breaks NFL single-game rushing record

Chicago Bears quarterback, and former Ohio State star, Justin Fields surpassed Michael Vick for the NFL’s single-game rushing record over the weekend. Trying to keep pace with the Miami Dolphins, Fields rushed for 178 yards and also passed for a trio of touchdowns. Even though the Bears fell short of Miami, Fields’ performance turned heads. He became the only quarterback in the NFL this season to log more than one 20-plus miles per hour run in a single game.

What’s more, Fields actually boasts the highest QBR in the NFC North now. It’s all the more stunning, considering that he was struggling mightily as recently as mid-October.

Bears head coach Matt Eberflus and his staff are finally allowing Fields to just play football and embrace his own skill set, and it’s paying off. In his last three games, Fields has posted a 6:1 touchdown-to-interception ratio while throwing for 453 yards and rushing for 320 yards and three scores.

Networks use six-day window for Ohio State-Maryland kickoff

Ohio State will have to wait until the weekend before it knows what time it will play Maryland. It’s the second week in a row that the networks have used a six-day hold on the Buckeyes’ upcoming game. This past Saturday night, Ohio State learned that Noon on FOX was going to take the Indiana game. Ohio State does know that the Maryland game — the Buckeyes’ final road matchup of the year — will be broadcast on ABC. The time, however, is still up in the air.

The Buckeyes won’t find out the kickoff time at Maryland until Saturday night or Sunday morning this week. All seven Big Ten games in Week 12, including Ohio State-Maryland, are part of the six-day hold. The other matchups are Illinois-Michigan, Penn State-Rutgers, Iowa-Minnesota, Wisconsin-Nebraska, Northwestern-Purdue and Indiana-Michigan State.

Taking a closer look at Buckeyes ugly win at Northwestern

Wind, rain, frustration and a new way to win. It wasn’t pretty, but Ohio State moved to 9-0 with a 21-7 victory at Northwestern this past weekend and is one of four remaining undefeated FBS teams. Quarterback C.J. Stroud had to resort to using his legs to help power the Buckeyes to a win in the cross-divisional matchup.

Lettermen Row was in Evanston to break it all down Saturday, and now it’s back inside the Horseshoe to re-examine everything it learned from the road game.

A range of topics were covered: Ohio State’s defensive line rotation, the Buckeyes’ continued struggles in the run game, Stroud’s zone-read heroics and a whole lot more.

Spencer Holbrook, Andy Backstrom and Tim May are breaking down how the Buckeyes fared with the newest Lettermen Row video: The Monday After. Every Monday following Buckeyes games, Spencer, Andy and Tim will reconvene and chat about what they saw Saturday afternoon.
