Networks choose six-day window for Buckeyes home finale vs. Rutgers

COLUMBUS — Ohio State will have to wait until after its game against UCLA this weekend to find out when it will take on Rutgers a week later.

Yes, for the first time this season, the Buckeyes are part of the six-day window choice from the television networks. They’ll wait until Saturday evening, once the dust from Week 12 settles, to figure out which matchups will be on which network and at what time.

The Ohio State vs. Rutgers game could take place at Noon, 3:30 p.m. or 4 p.m. next week, a week before the Buckeyes travel to Michigan for the rivalry game against the Wolverines. And how to watch is still to be determined as the networks figure out which channel will take which game for that week.

The expectation is that the Buckeyes will host Rutgers at 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 22, according to Lettermen Row sources.

Other Big Ten games that weekend include Michigan at Maryland, USC at Oregon, Michigan State at Iowa, Washington at UCLA, Nebraska at Penn State, Minnesota at Northwestern and Illinois at Wisconsin.

Ohio State still needs to take care of business against a plucky UCLA team before it can worry about Rutgers — or Michigan, for that matter — this weekend. The Bruins are coming off a seven-point home loss to Nebraska, while the Buckeyes are fresh off a dominant 34-10 road win over Purdue on Saturday afternoon.

The game against UCLA will kick off at 7:30 p.m. on NBC, while the Michigan game to close the regular season will be at Noon with FOX broadcasting one of the biggest games of the year around college football.
