COLUMBUS – Ohio State’s 2026 recruiting class rose in the rankings following the release of the updated Rivals300.

The Buckeyes moved up one spot in the Rivals Team Recruiting Rankings to No. 7 overall. Ohio State passed Texas A&M in the process.

Ohio State had 12 commitments in the updated 2026 Rivals300 including three five-stars. Gardena (Calif.) Junipero Serra EDGE Khary Wilder retained his five-star status from the previous rankings update. Meanwhile, Gibsonia (Pa.) Pine-Richland cornerback Jay Timmons earned his fifth star after a strong senior season. And finally, Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. regained five-star status after what he has shown as a senior.

Four-star Akron (Ohio) Archbishop Hoban offensive lineman Sam Greer, four-star Baton Rouge (La.) Catholic safety Blaine Bradford, four-star Richland (N.J.) St. Augustine Prep defensive lineman Damari Simeon and four-star Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville linebacker Cincere Johnson were the other Ohio State commits inside the top-100 of the updated 2026 Rivals300.

All four fell in the rankings but remained inside the top-100. Greer fell a few to No. 33 overall. Same with Bradford who is now No. 67 overall. Simeon is now the No. 75 overall prospect but still a Rivals outlier. And Johnson slid down two spots to No. 94 overall.

Two Ohio State commit made the Rivals300 debut in this most recent update: Four-star Fort Wayne (Ind.) Northrop wide receiver Jerquaden Guilford and four-star Lebanon (Ohio) tight end Nick Lautar. Guilford is now the No. 131 overall prospect in the 2026 class, according to Rivals. Lautar, a recent flip from Louisville, slotted in at No. 294 overall.

Four-star Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic cornerback Jordan Thomas, four-star North Forney (Texas) running back Legend Bey and four-star Delaware (Ohio) Hayes running back Favour Akih were the three other Ohio State commits in the updated 2026 Rivals300. Thomas was one spot behind Guilford at No. 132 overall. Bey rose up to No. 140 overall while Akih fell to No. 278 overall after missing most of his senior season with an injury.

There are five Ohio State commits outside the Rivals300 that are rated as four-star prospects, according to Rivals.

Four-star Inglewood (Calif) Mater Dei wide receiver Kayden Dixon-Wyatt remains on the bubble. He is the highest-ranked wide receiver outside the Rivals300. Meanwhile, four-star Southlake Carroll (Texas) wide receiver Brock Boyd four-star Lewis Center (Ohio) Olentangy linebacker CJ Sanna and four-star Jacksonville (Fla.) The Bolles School safety Simeon Caldwell all maintained four-star status despite falling out of the top-300.

Additionally, Ohio State has the potential to continue to rise in the Rivals Team Recruiting Rankings. The Buckeyes hosted three-star Hoschton (Ga.) Mill Creek linebacker Braxton Rembert and four-star Windermere (Fla.) cornerback CJ Bronaugh for official visits over the weekend. Bronaugh, a Florida commit, rose to No. 74 overall in the updated 2026 Rivals300. As for Rembert, the Wake Forest made his Rivals300 as the No. 166 overall prospect in this most recent update.

If Ohio State is able to flip Rembert and Bronaugh, they could finish with a top-five recruiting class this cycle.
