Where Ohio State commits are playing from Aug. 21-23

COLUMBUS – High school football seasons across the country are kicking off this weekend. Almost all of Ohio State’s 21 commitments in 2026 class will be in action along with their commitments in the 2027 and 2028 classes.

Lettermen Row looks at the weekend slate for all future Buckeyes.

Quarterbacks

Four-star Mission Viejo (Calif.) quarterback Luke Fahey opens the season against Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Santa Margarita Catholic on Friday, Aug. 22.

2027 Four-star Huntington Beach (Calif.) quarterback Brady Edmunds opened the season against Orange (Calif.) on Thursday, Aug. 21. The Oilers won 35-18.

Running backs

Four-star Delaware (Ohio) Hayes running back Favour Akih opens the season against Delaware (Ohio) Buckeye Valley on Friday, Aug. 22.

2028 Four-star Tampa (Fla.) Blake  running back Elijah Hall opens the season against Tampa (Fla.) Plant City on Friday, Aug. 22.

Wide receivers

Five-star Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. opens the season against Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas on Friday, Aug. 22.

Four-star Inglewood (Calif) Mater Dei wide receiver Kayden Dixon-Wyatt opens the season against Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas on Friday, Aug. 22.

Four-star Pataskala (Ohio) Watkins Memorial wide receiver Jaeden Ricketts opens the season against Worthington (Ohio) Kilbourne on Friday, Aug. 22.

Four-star Fort Wayne (Ind.) Northrop wide receiver Jerquaden Guilford opens the season against Fort Wayne (Ind.) New Haven on Friday, Aug. 22.

Four-star Southlake Carroll (Texas) wide receiver Brock Boyd does not open the season until Friday, Aug. 29.

2027 Five-star Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne wide receiver Jamier Brown opens the season against Cincinnati (Ohio) Fairfield on Friday, Aug. 22.

Tight end

Three-star Jacksonville (Fla.) The Bolles School tight end Corbyn Fordham opened the season against Pompano Beach (Fla.) Monarch on Thursday, Aug. 21. The Bulldogs won 34-15.

Offensive line

Four-star Akron (Ohio) Archbishop Hoban offensive lineman Sam Greer opens the season against Columbus (Ohio) Harvest Preparatory School on Friday, Aug. 22.

Four-star Avon Lake (Ohio) interior offensive lineman Max Riley opens the season against Strongsville (Ohio) on Friday, Aug. 22.

Three-star Phoenix (Ariz.) Mountain Pointe offensive tackle Aaron Thomas does not open the season until Friday, Aug. 29.

Three-star Phoenix (Ariz.) Sandra Day O’Conner offensive lineman Tucker Smith does not open the season until Friday, Aug. 29.

Defensive line

Four-star Gardena (Calif.) Junipero Serra defensive lineman Khary Wilder opens the season against Palos Verdes Peninsula (Calif.) Palos Verdes on Friday, Aug. 22.

Four-star Egg Harbor Township (N.J.) St. Augustine Prep defensive lineman Damari Simeon does not open the season until Friday, Aug. 29.

Three-star Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy defensive lineman Cameron Brickle opens the season against Hoover (Ala.) on Friday, Aug. 22.

Three-star Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville defensive lineman Jamir Perez opens the season against Massillon (Ohio) Washington on Friday, Aug. 22.

Linebackers

Four-star Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville linebacker Cincere Johnson opens the season against Massillon (Ohio) Washington on Friday, Aug. 22.

Four-star Lewis Center (Ohio) Olentangy linebacker CJ Sanna opens the season against Powell (Ohio) Olentangy Liberty on Friday, Aug. 22.

Cornerback

Four-star Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic athlete Jordan Thomas does not open his season until Thursday, Aug. 28.

Safeties

Four-star Baton Rouge (La.) Catholic safety Blaine Bradford does not start his season until Friday, Sept. 5.

Where will Lettermen Row be?

Lettermen Row will also be out on the road this weekend to see several Ohio State targets in action. I will be in Pittsburgh for the KDKA Classic at Woodlands Hills (Pa.) High School. The game of the night is between Pittsburgh (Pa.) Central Catholic and Glenside (Pa.) La Salle College. Both teams have multiple Division I prospects. The Vikings offensive line is anchored by 2027 Ohio State targets Jimmy Kalis and James Halter.

Jeremy Birmingham will be at Defiance (Ohio) Tinora High School to watch Liberty Center (Ohio) and 2027 Ohio State offensive line target Kellen Wymer. The Buckeyes offered the 6-foot-5, 270-pound Wymer in June.
