Keep Bedlam going continues to be message from OU head coach Porter Moser
It makes sense for OU basketball head coach Porter Moser to get asked the question every time. But his answer? It’s not changing.
When it comes to Bedlam against Oklahoma State, Moser is always going to be in favor of it. Not about to change his opinion on that matter.
OU (6-3) vs. OSU (9-0) (Paycom Center, Oklahoma City)
When: Noon on Saturday
TV: FOX
OU smoked OSU in the first non-conference showdown at the Paycom Center last season. Everybody fully expects a much more competitive game this time around.
Win, lose, though, the message is the same. Bedlam needs to be here to stay.
“I said it right when we went to different conferences,” said Moser on Friday. “People asked me right away, are you going to want to keep playing Oklahoma State? You can look back at anything I ever said. I said, absolutely, we should. Said that even before we announced we were going to get that thing going.

“I just think – everything I knew about it before I got here and watched it from afar. The proximity, the state, everything. Rivalries make for great sports. It makes for great basketball, great football. For us? I’ve been outspoken from the jump and so have they. When Mike (Boynton) was there, Steve (Lutz) right out the gate. Absolutely, rivalries are great for the sport.”
OSU is off to a solid 9-0 start, and it’s OU that might have more question marks through the initial month of the season.
It won’t just be the men, either. The women’s version of Bedlam will be Saturday at Paycom Center as well. After not playing last season, a doubleheader in Oklahoma City was agreed upon for this season.
The men are at noon, followed by the women at 3 p.m. One ticket gets fans in for both contests.
