OU's Raegan Beers, Payton Verhulst earn All-SEC honors
Center Raegan Beers and guard Payton Verhulst both earned All-SEC for Oklahoma this season, the conference announced on Tuesday. Beers was a first-team selection and Verhulst was chosen for the second-team.
Beers and Verhulst have been Oklahoma’s best players this season, helping the Sooners to a 23-6 regular season record, including 11-5 in the SEC. OU’s two selections are tied for the second most in the league behind only LSU, which had three.
Beers has averaged 17.6 points and 8.9 rebounds and leads the country with a 68.4% field goal percentage. According to the press release, Beers “became the first SEC player in over 25 years to average at least 17.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and shoot 65% from the field.” She was three-time SEC Player of the Week and is currently rated as the most efficient player in the conference.

Verhulst has averaged 15.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per game this season. She is the only player in the country to average at least 15 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game in under 30 minutes per game. According to the press release, Verhulst’s “29-point triple-double against then-No. 12 Duke made her just the second player since 1999 to record a 25-point triple-double against a ranked opponent, joining Caitlin Clark.”
Beers and Verhulst will look to continue their success in the postseason starting on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. CT as the No. 5 seed in the SEC Tournament. OU is currently ranked No. 10 in the AP Poll and appears to be a lock to host a regional in the NCAA Tournament later this month.
