Rivaldo Soares leaves (again) with ankle injury in OU loss
Not again for OU senior Rivaldo Soares.
Soares left the game with 3:13 left in the second half after reinjuring his left ankle in the OU loss against Texas.
It was another great effort from Soares, tying his career high with 21 points. But it looked like he rolled that ankle once again, screaming out in pain. He had to be helped off the floor.
UT earned a 94-80 victory as head coach Porter Moser still has not defeated the Longhorns.
After a tight first half, UT took over early in the second half to cruise to a victory Saturday afternoon at the Moody Center.
The two schools are 20-11 this season and should meet for the third time in just a few days.
It was 40-35 at halftime, but UT got a lead as big as 21 points. The Horns’ offensive execution was simply too much for OU all afternoon. And it just got worse with the Soares news.
Game 31 Takeaways from the couch
*Point guard Javian McCollum did come back, so that’s a positive. He definitely didn’t seem like the same McCollum that we usually see. But if he’s already feeling pretty good now, then you have to believe he’ll be good for KC. Just a six-point, two-assist effort.

*It was good news with the other point guard as well. Milos Uzan had a solid outing after the dismal performance Tuesday. Uzan had 12 points, seven assists and just one turnover. OK, that’s something OU and Uzan can attempt to build on.
*Jalon Moore had a rough start before finishing with 16 points and nine rebounds. It’s the first time in a while where Moore didn’t have it initially. So, again, maybe that’s something to circle and like how Moore responded.
*But obviously, it’s about Soares. His production, his leadership. And for the second time with this injury, occurring in the middle of a road blowout loss. All you can do is hope he can shake it off a bit and get ready. Just like in Waco, it did not look good in Austin.
