It was a very successful weekend for Ole Miss athletics across the board last weekend. Baseball takes two of three from Iowa, men’s hoops defeats Missouri on the road, women’s hoops demolishes Arkansas and softball goes 3-2 in a big tournament in Oxford, Miss.

On this edition of “The Flagship”, Grayson Weir and I give you the full recap of the weekend that was in Ole Miss sports.

The Diamond Rebs (8-5) have won six of their last seven games, including an 8-3 win on Sunday, since a four-game winning streak that dated back to the Rebels’ season-opening split at Hawaii. Despite a Friday loss to a Top 20-ranked MLB Draft prospect, Ole Miss bounced back to to win the series.

Ole Miss basketball remains on the bubble, but got it done on the road against Missouri.

Chris Beard and Co., got out to a huge lead Saturday and held on late to defeat the Tigers. The Rebels are now 20-9 on the season and looking to bolster the resume Tuesday at Georgia. Jaemyn Brakefield, Jaylen Murray and Matthew Murrell were great offensively. Moussa Cisse and Jamarion Sharp held it down in the paint and the Rebels disposed of a feisty Missouri bunch.

Elsewhere, Ole Miss women’s hoops wrapped up a 22-7 regular season with a 12-4 conference record. Those 12 wins are the most ever for a Rebel program which is all of a sudden looking at a long break before hitting the floor again as the 3-seed in the SEC Tournament this weekend.

Softball won three games over the weekend and continue to swing the sticks well. Now 12-4, the lineup is hitting .321 as a team and the pitching is rounding into form as the uber-competitive SEC slate looms.
