Earlier this week, Chattanooga center Sam Alexis announced he was entering the NCAA Transfer Portal. His potential suitor list quickly grew. Ole Miss joined the likes of LSU, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Mississippi State, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Missouri, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Penn State, BYU and Xavier, among others.

The 6-foot-9, 230 pound prospect earned First-Team SoCon All-Defense and Third-Team All-Conference honors after averaging 10.8 points, 9.1 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game in 2023-2024. He appeared in all 33 games and started 32 of them.

Alexis shot an incredibly efficient 55 percent from the field and recorded nine double-doubles. He scored double digits in 20 games, double-digit rebounds in 13 games and had 19 games with two or more blocks.

Chattanooga Mocs forward Sam Alexis (4) dunks the ball as Auburn Tigers take on Chattanooga Mocs at Neville Arena in Auburn, Ala., on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023.

Sam Alexis put together an impressive performance against 4-seed Auburn earlier this season.

The big man finished the game with 13 points, six rebounds and three blocks against Auburn’s All-SEC power forward Johni Broome. The Rebels will be looking to potentially replace both Jamarion Sharp and Moussa Cisse next year. Alexis would be quite the start in doing so.
