The 2022 college football season is just getting underway but Ole Miss knows where and when it will play in 2023

On Tuesday the Southeastern Conference revealed the full 2023 schedule for all 14 teams. Only Ole MIss’ dates, opponents and locations were announced. Kickoff times and television designations will be announced next year.

September will have a similar feel and start that this season had with a non-conference flavor the first three weeks. Ole Miss will host Mercer to kickoff the season then host Georgia Tech in week three sandwiched around a return to New Orleans and play at Tulane.

Ole Miss and Tulane met up last season in Oxford and next year’s game will complete the home-and-home series.

Next year’s season opener against the Bears will be the first time the two schools will meet on the football field since 1911. The Rebels won that game 34-0.

Then Georgia Tech will come to Oxford as part of its home-and-home series with Ole Miss. The Rebels just defeated the Yellow Jackets 42-0 in Atlanta this past weekend.

After having all four non-conference opponents in the first four weeks of the season this year there will be a little bit of a change up in 2023.

The final non-conference game Ole Miss will play is against ULM on Nov. 18 in the penultimate week of the regular season.

It is the first time since the 2019 season the Rebels will play a non-conference opponent in November.

Ole Miss has a SEC schedule that few will envy in 2023.

The SEC games played in Oxford at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium include LSU, Arkansas, Vanderbilt and Texas A&M. Ole Miss will hit the road to Alabama, Auburn, Georgia and Mississippi State.

The 2023 Egg Bowl will once again be on Thanksgiving night with the Rebels traveling to Starkville and taking on Mississippi State.

Ole Miss has a midseason stretch of playing Alabama, LSU and Arkansas before hitting their bye on Oct. 14. Coming out of the bye the Rebels get Vanderbilt before taking on Texas A&M and Georgia in back-to-back weeks.

For the first time since 2016 Ole Miss will take on Georgia as its rotation SEC East opponent. It will be the first time since 2012 the Rebels will play the Bulldogs in Athens.

There are still nine games left for the Rebels in 2022 — including all eight SEC games — but it is always fun to go ahead and take a look at next year’s slate and let the season predictions begin.
