Revenge is a dish best served cold and for the No. 19 Ole Miss women’s basketball team they get that opportunity on Wednesday.

While the temperature is dropping outside in late-November the Rebels will be looking to stay hot inside the SJB Pavilion when they welcome No. 22 Louisville comes to Oxford.

The game is part of the ACC/SEC Challenge and is the rematch from last year’s Sweet 16 when the Cardinals eliminated Ole Miss after its historic run. Despite the chance to avenge the loss, playing Louisville at this point of the season is not something sixth-year head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin had in mind.

“Excited about the game tomorrow. SEC/ACC Challenge, so this was not something we were able to set up on our own. If that were the case, I don’t know that I would want to play them, Louisville, right now,” McPhee-McCuin said on Tuesday to local media. “But we don’t have control of that, so we move forward. We’re excited about the opportunity to play another Top 25 program and continue to build as a unit.”

Wednesday’s game provides another opportunity for a measuring stick game after Ole Miss defeated Arizona and Michigan on its way to last week’s Battle 4 Atlantis championship. A win over the Cardinals would be another early-season feather in the Rebels tournament resume cap.
