Dana Altman and the Ducks scored a big piece to their 2025-2026 roster on Monday morning, as 6-foot-10, 250-pound international center Ege Demir committed to Oregon, according to a report from Jon Chepkevich of DraftExpress.com.

The newest Duck is 20 years told and originally from Kaduna, Nigeria. He has a 7-foot-3 inch wingspan to go along with a 9-foot-3 inch reach.

Demir spent the last three years playing professional basketball overseas in Turkey.

Last season he played for Darussafaka Lassa Istanbul of the Basketball Super League. He played in 29 games and averaged 5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1 block per game across 15.3 minutes per game (according to Basketball Reference). Demir shot 59.1% from the floor and 32.3% from the free throw line.

He also played for Tofas, another team in the Basketball Super League, during the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Overall he played in 70 games across three seasons and averaged 4.2 points, 3.87 rebounds and .87 blocks per game in that time.

Prior to playing professionally, Demir committed to Mick Cronin and the UCLA Bruins back in 2022.

Now slated to join Oregon for the 2025 season, Demir will provide valuable front court depth alongside 7-foot stretch five Nate Bittle, who will return to Eugene for his senior season. Other players that highlight Oregon’s front court include forward Kwame Evans Jr., former Texas forward Devon Pryor, former Ohio State forward Sean Stewart, former Howard forward Miles Stewart and Dezdrick Lindsay, who missed last season due to injury.
